Paster Terry Jones of of Dove World Outreach Center in Gainsville
The following is an email forward 1 Muslim Nation received with the subject heading of “Pastor Terry Jones Arrested For Possession Of Child Pornography”. Pastor Terry Jones is the Christian Preacher who launched the controversial “Burn The Koran Day” campaigne. This email only one of several similar email forwards that have been circulating “NEWS”?
Good news
Alhumdillah – Allah has mentioned this in the Quran that he will protect the Quran Himself
“They seek to mock Allah but Allah mocks them” (Al Qur’an, Sura An-Nisaa)
Pastor Terry Jones, the man who tried to organise the upcoming “Burn a Quran Day” has just been arrested by police on charges of possession of child pornography. Humiliated in front of his very own congregation and in front of the entire world.
He wished to mock Islam and encouraged his followers to burn copies of the Holy Qur’an on September 11, which has resulted in them indirectly helping many Muslim organizations generate huge revenue by their purchasing copies of the Holy Qur’an, and while he goes to jail he leaves behind his followers with copies each of the Holy Qur’an.May Allah Almighty grant them guidance!
‘They plan (plot) and Allah plans, verily Allah is the best of planners’
[Al-Qur’an]
HOWEVER THIS MESSAGE SEEMS TO BE COMPLETELY FALSE. LET US BEWARE OF FORWARDING SUCH MAILS.
It’s good you check before forwarding such emails
Now the minister may be a nut job and a attention seeker, but after scoring the Internet for detailed about this arrest I’ve found absolutely no credible evidence that he had been arrested for child pornography. However despicable the person is, this is a vile thing to do to a person’s reputation with no evidence.
I checked the internet and found that this false report was first posted in a us forum called Gainsville forum or something and then picked up and quoted without proof by several small attention seeking websites and blogs. My guess is some Muslim brother or sister saw this juice bit of false news and pounce on it to tell the Ummah without verifying the claim and charges.
It’s reported by Aisha (Rali) that our Muhammad Sallahu Alaihiwasalam said, “He who, in order to find fault, says something about a person that was not there, Allah will throw such a person in hell till he tastes fully what he had fabricated.” (Tibrani)
For those guilty of falsely accusing any person, Islam has decreed punishment in this world also, and it is difficult to imagine the punishment in the next world. You can read more about how bad false accusations is in False Accusations in Friday Nashia website.
Further more we however wrong some Muslim maybe we don’t like it when a non Muslim accusess him/her unjustly or falsely to a crime or thing he/she didn’t do. Don’t you think any when you falsely say that this Pastor has Child Porn when he hasn’t the Non-Muslims specially Christians will feel the same way you do?
The Email starts with Good News (Gospel?) and even quotes the Quran to indicate that this is somehow devine retribution. If you quote a Quran sentence or two out of context and try to increase it’s effect on Muslims will that safe effect not impact in a negative way to the Muslims you reach out to using Quran sentences out of context? Take care when you quote Gods and Prophets words. Don’t use it to justify or prove some unrelated point.
So please my brothers and sisters, before you forward the next email or relate to someone any bit of gossip or even news you heard on the TV or socalled mass media please verify it first for Allah’s sake. You are on the Internet, you have search engines that search the net in lighting speed and take you to relevant documents. This can be done in 5 or maximum 10-15 minutes. That’s not very difficult thing to do is it?
Jazakallah (May Allah be Please with you)
Warm regards from your brother in Islam.
I was forwarded a version of the E-mail you have discussed here in your post.
I came upon your site in trying to verify if the E-mail was the truth, for I had heard nothing of the arrest before, and I regularly browse news headlines. It surely would have been broadly reported.
It is sincerely refreshing to read your reasoned stand against slandering the man, even if he is misguided and arrogant.
Thank you Garnet. Your appreciations motivates me.
There was a similar message being forwarded in the UK by text message, that Pastor Jones had died in a car crash and upon further investigation of the scene found his car boot full with the Holy Quran and burning material.
Much like yourself, I went directly onto the net and find the source of this information or to verify its authenticity, however nothing more than few forums relayed the same information. I immediately called but the sender and explained Allah (swt) will deal with pastor Jones but we need to be in control of our actions and more so with our minds and heart.
I agree, news on such delicate subject needs to be investigated with all means possible and most cases such news can do more harm than good.
Such attacks on Islam have continued throughout history, but Islam is strong enough to pull through and this we should remember, these attacks will continue and we shall fight to protect it with the truth and nothing but the truth as we are people of the true religion and its our duty to live up to its standard and not play into the hands of the attackers.
